Swillington Village Council (Vacancy 1)

Notice is hereby given that due to the resignation of Cllr Bernie McGreavey, a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for Swillington Village Council.

The vacancy will be filled by election if any 10 local government electors for the said area submit a written request to that effect in the manner prescribed below and if no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by the Parish Council.

Any request for an election to be held to fill the vacancy must be in writing and must reach the Returning Officer at Leeds City Council, Electoral Services, Civic Hall, Calverley Street, Leeds, LS1 1UR by midnight on 19 November 2025.

Notice of election

1. An election is to be held of one Councillor for the West ward of Wetherby Town Council.

2. Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, 4th Floor West, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR between 10am and 4pm on any working day after the date of publication of this notice but no later than 4pm on Friday 17 October 2025.

3. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, 4th Floor West, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR during the times stated above, or from the Electoral Commission website.

4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 13 November 2025.

5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 28 October 2025. Applications can be made online through GOV.UK.
