Elections
Rawdon Parish Council (Greenacre Ward) by-election
A by-election will be held in Greenacre Ward of Rawdon Parish Council on Thursday 16 July 2026.
Poll cards will not be issued for this by-election. This has been decided by Rawdon Parish Council, who will contact electors directly.

Voting in person
Date of poll: Thursday 16 July 2026.
Polling hours: 7am to 10pm.
Your usual polling station is unavailable for this election. You must go to the alternative polling station at Trinity Church Rawdon, Church Hall, New Road Side, Rawdon, LS19 6AS.
You will not be able to vote at any other polling station.
Parking is available at this polling station but there are no designated disabled parking bays.
Voter ID
You can use any of the accepted forms of photo ID when voting at a polling station.
You only need to show one form of photo ID. It needs to be the original version, not a photocopy.
If you don't have an accepted form of photo ID
You can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate, if:
- you don't have an accepted form of photo ID
- you're not sure whether your photo ID still looks like you
- you're worried about using an existing form of ID for any other reason, such as the use of a gender marker
The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate for this election is 5pm on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
Voting by post
If you have a postal vote:
- your ballot papers will be sent to the address requested in your postal vote application form
- postal votes will be handed to Royal Mail for delivery by 1st class post on Monday 6 July 2026
If you want to vote in person instead, you must cancel your postal vote by the deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 1 July 2026.
If you haven’t received your postal vote by Friday 10 July 2026, contact us to request a replacement.
Voting by proxy
If you cannot attend in person, you can appoint someone to vote on your behalf.
The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
If after 5pm on Wednesday 8 July 2026 you are unable to vote in person because:
- you have a medical emergency after 5pm on Wednesday 8 July 2026
- you learn you cannot go to the polling station because of work reasons
- the form of accepted photographic identification that you were intending to use to vote has been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed, or has not yet been received if applied for recently

Notice of election
1. An election is to be held of one Councillor for the Greenacre ward of Rawdon Parish Council.
2. Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, 4th Floor West, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR between 10am and 4pm on any working day after the date of publication of this notice (excluding weekends and bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday 19 June 2026.
3. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, 4th Floor West, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR during the times stated above, or from www.electoralcommission.org.uk.
4. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 16 July 2026.

Collingham with Linton Parish council
Notice is hereby given that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for Collingham with Linton Parish Council - Linton Ward.
The vacancy will be filled by election if any 10 local government electors for the said area submit a written request to that effect in the manner prescribed below and if no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by the Parish Council.
Any request for an election to be held to fill the vacancy must be in writing and must reach the Returning Officer, Leeds City Council, Electoral Services, Civic Hall, Calverley Street, Leeds LS1 1UR by no later than midnight on 13th July 2026.
