Parish and town council elections and vacancies

Notice is hereby given that a vacancy has occurred in the office of Parish Councillor for Alwoodley Parish Council following the resignation of Councillor Peter Buckland.

Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006 provides that on a casual vacancy occurring in the office of Parish Councillor, an election to fill the vacancy shall be held if, within fourteen days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday, or a Bank Holiday) after the publication of this notice, a request for such an election is made in writing to:

The Returning Officer 
Electoral Services, Leeds City Council
Civic Hall, Leeds, LS1 1UR
by 10 electors for the Parish of Alwoodley.

If no such request for an election is received by the Returning Officer within the prescribed fourteen-day period, the Parish Council will proceed to fill the vacancy by co-option.

Notice is hereby given that due to the resignation of Councillor Waterfield a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for East Keswick Parish Council.

The vacancy will be filled by election if any 10 local government electors for the said area submit a written request to that effect in the manner prescribed below and if no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by the Parish Council.

Any request for an election to be held to fill the vacancy must be in writing and must reach the Returning Officer, Leeds City Council, Electoral Services, Civic Hall, Calverley Street, Leeds LS1 1UR by no later than 26 October 2026.

The vacancy will be filled by election if any 10 local government electors for the said area submit a written request to that effect in the manner prescribed below and if no such request is made the vacancy will be filled by the Parish Council.
