The council is legally required to publish notices of its intention to appropriate or dispose of any land consisting or forming part of an open space by publishing notices in a local newspaper for two consecutive weeks.
Plans showing the land concerned are made available for inspection at our offices in Merrion House.

Anybody who wishes to object to the council’s intentions must do so as set out in the relevant notice.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972, that Leeds City Council is intending to dispose of land comprising public open space by way of a lease, particulars of which are set out in the schedule.

In addition, a copy of the plan is available for inspection at Merrion House Reception (Merrion Way entrance), Merrion House, 110 Merrion Centre, Leeds, LS2 8BB between the hours of 9am and 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and between 10am and 5pm on Tuesdays.
Objections
Any person who wishes to object to the proposed disposal should submit written representations by post to Land and Property, City Development, Leeds City Council, 10th Floor East, Merrion House, 110 Merrion Centre, Leeds LS2 8BB or email to AM&R.New.Work.Instruction@leeds.gov.uk quoting reference - Church Lane Playing Fields, Methley.
Objections must be made no later than Saturday 15 August 2026.
Schedule
The disposal will be by way of a 25 year lease of land and buildings at Church Lane, Methley, Leeds LS26 (which has an area of 83 square yards or thereabouts) for use of the premises as changing rooms and tea hut.
