Parish and Town Council Elections

Vacancies

The next elections for Parish and Town Councils will be held on Thursday 2 May 2019.

If you wish to stand as a candidate in a parish or town council election on 2 May 2019, please download and complete the Town or Parish Council Elections nomination papers (PDF 308KB).

Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer at the following address:

The dates that nomination papers can be delivered are from Monday 25 March until 4pm on Wednesday 3 April. An election timetable (PDF 29KB) External link containing these and other relevant dates can be downloaded.

Appointments are available to ensure that you are seen promptly when submitting your nomination papers. Please contact electors@leeds.gov.uk to make an appointment.

In accordance with Section 89(3) of the Local Government Act 1972, should a vacancy occur within six months before that date (2 May 2019) an election shall not be held under Section 89(1) of the Act, and the vacancy will be filled at the next ordinary election of councillors on Thursday 2 May 2019.

The Council may choose to fill the vacancy by co-option for the period until that election.
