School uniforms

We do not provide financial help with school uniforms but your child's school or a uniform exchange may be able to help.

Where to find help with costs

Contact your school

Please contact your child’s school as they may be able to help.

Schools in Leeds are responsible for deciding what uniform pupils should wear. If you are a parent or carer and you have a question about school uniforms, you should contact your child's school to find out about their uniform policy.

Most schools also provide their uniform policy on their website and in the school prospectus.

Leeds school uniform exchange

Leeds school uniform exchange is a project launched by Zero Waste Leeds, a recycling organisation.

The project aims to develop a school uniform reuse network across Leeds, offering great quality second hand uniforms. This helps to reduce waste and makes school uniform more affordable and accessible across the city.

Find school uniform exchanges in your area

To find the closest school uniform exchange in your area visit the Leeds School Uniform Exchange website which includes a searchable map of all the schools, community groups and parent-led Facebook groups that run a scheme. The website also has information for anyone wanting to set up a scheme in their local area.

You can also find out more information about the Leeds uniform exchange by visiting their Facebook page or by emailing info@zerowasteleeds.org.uk.
