Thorner Neighbourhood Plan

Residents in Thorner have voted in favour of the Thorner Neighbourhood Plan being used to help determine planning applications in the area.

On Thursday 26 February, a referendum was held in the Thorner Neighbourhood Area. The referendum asked the question:

"Do you want Leeds City Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Thorner to help decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

The results of the referendum are as follows:

Number of votes cast 'No' 33 7.19%
Electorate 1,267
Turnout 36.3%
Spoilt ballots 1

In accordance with Section 3 of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017, the Thorner neighbourhood plan is to be considered "made" and part of the development plan for the purposes of determining planning applications. 

The council must still formally make the plan, and further details will be published in due course.
