Please note that if the re-designation is made, no other organisation or body may be designated for the Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Area until this designation expires or is withdrawn.
The Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Forum was first designated on 16 February 2016. A forum designation lasts for 5 years; therefore the forum was re-designated in August 2021 and has applied to the council to be formally re-designated in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the Localism Act 2011 and the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended). Re-designation will enable the forum to continue to prepare the neighbourhood plan for the Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Area, which remains unchanged.
The neighbourhood forum application includes a map of the designated neighbourhood area, a copy of the written constitution, a list of membership, a statement of reasons as to why the application meets legislative requirements, and the contact details of a member of the forum which the council has express consent to make available online.

Independent examination
In May 2026, the independent examiner for the Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Plan, Tony Burton, published his examiner’s report. The report is available to view:
On 26 August 2026, the council published its decision in accordance with Regulation 18 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended). The decision confirms the modifications to be made to the Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Plan in response to the examiner's report.
The decision also confirms that the Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Plan, as modified, can proceed to a local referendum. You can view the council's formal decision at Gov.UK.
