​The combination of scale, strategic location and transport connectivity make the Leeds enterprise zone an unrivalled location for business investment, expansion and relocation.

Companies locating within the enterprise zone can take advantage of a range of incentives including simplified planning & a bespoke package of recruitment & business support. Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA's) are now available to companies locating in the Leeds City Region Enterprise Zone as one of a number of financial incentives designed to encourage investment & development of the enterprise zone.  

Other financial incentives include grants of between £10,000 and £250,000 to small and medium sized businesses who are based in the Leeds City Region or planning to invest here. The grants are for businesses who will use the funding for capital investment in fit out and refurbishment of buildings, plant, machinery and equipment, creating permanent jobs in the Leeds City Region.

Companies locating in the enterprise zone at the Gateway 45 & Logic Leeds sites that are making significant investments in plant or machinery can qualify for enhanced capital allowances, depending on tax and business status.

Employment Leeds is a Leeds City Council free service, which provides a single point of contact to help companies that are investing, expanding or developing a business in Leeds to recruit new staff.

As well as offering advice & information on the local labour market, the service works closely with businesses to understand their needs & make sure they recruit the right people. Full support is provided throughout the recruitment process, including facilities to host interviews, pre-employment training & workforce development.

Companies located in the enterprise zone will also benefit from the support from the Manufacturing Advisory Service & UKTI’s network of international trade advisors who can help to identify opportunities in overseas markets & provide intensive ‘in country’ support to help companies break into & grow export markets.

The UK government has introduced enterprise zones to stimulate private sector investment, drive growth & create new jobs. A key benefit is that the local enterprise partnership is able to retain business rates generated within the enterprise zone to fuel economic development projects across the wider Leeds City Region.
