Community Committee Youth Summits

Find out how to take part in Community Committee Youth Summits and have your say on how money is allocated to fund youth activities.

Who can get involved

Young people aged 8 to 17 who live in Leeds or go to school or college in Leeds.

What is involved

  • Annual events for different areas of the city delivered by the local Community Committee.
  • Each Community Committee helps young people have a say in decisions about how money is allocated to fund youth activities.
  • Learn about the youth activity fund and the types of activities available in the local area.
  • Influence decision making by choosing which activities should be supported by the Community Committees budget.
  • Gain knowledge about democracy as well as local and national decision making.
  • Learn about the role of, and meet, local councillors, Children’s Champions and the Lord Mayor.

  • Develop confidence in public speaking.
  • Make a positive difference in your local area by choosing activities important to you and other young people.
