Calling all cardboard

Whether you’ve taken delivery of a new pressure washer or a pizza, the cardboard box it arrived in can be recycled in your green bin (just make sure it’s empty first!).

Yes please - green bin

Recycle all these types of paper and cardboard in your green bin:

  • cardboard boxes
  • toilet and kitchen roll tubes
  • cardboard food packaging (for example, egg, pizza and cereal boxes, microwave meal sleeves)
  • tissue boxes
  • newspapers and magazines
  • leaflets, flyers and junk mail
  • envelopes
  • wrapping paper (do the scrunch test - if it bounces back, it cannot be recycled)
  • cartons and Tetra Pak

No thanks - black bin

Put these in your black bin:

  • wet cardboard and paper
  • shredded paper
  • pet and animal bedding
  • foil wrapping paper (do the scrunch test. If it bounces back, it cannot be recycled)
