Crisis and Resilience Fund

The government have allocated the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) to local authorities in England for the period 1 April 2026 through 31 March 2029, inclusive.

The CRF is intended to support initiatives aimed at strengthening individual and community financial resilience, to reduce the risk of future crises. Additionally, the fund can assist eligible low-income households facing financial shocks.

CRF is made up of 4 components:

1. Crisis payments: eligible Leeds residents who are in crisis will be able to seek assistance by applying for a crisis payment.

2. Housing payments: will provide financial support towards housing costs for those who are eligible.

3. Resilience services: will provide funding for services in Leeds offered by the council or external partners, aimed at improving financial resilience.

4. Community coordination: will focus on supporting initiatives that strengthen connections within the local support network.

Further details about the scheme's 4 components will be available soon. In the meantime, if you do require support, you can find services which offer free, confidential and impartial help and advice on a range of money related matters such as debt, money, energy and utilities on the Leeds Money Information Centre website.
