About Studio12 

An award-winning digital media initiative run by Leeds Libraries since 2003. We recognise and invest in the creative talents of young people living in Leeds, producing the next generation of media experts. 

Studio12 provides free access to a production studio, training and a network of industry professionals in the creative industries. The space houses a fully equipped studio with a wide range of industry standard multimedia, film, VR, photography, music equipment and software packages.   

Masterclass, industry and workshop programmes enable members to gain valuable insight into the industry and access opportunities. Delivered by industry practitioners and artists, programmes are a mix of sharing knowledge and learning skills with a goal to create and showcase new work with young people.    

Resources  

Film  

A wide range of cinematic film equipment, access to production equipment, training and support for film projects. Green Screen, Adobe CC Editing, DaVinci Resolve Colour-grading, 2D & 3D Post-Production & Sound Production.  

Music Production  

Professional music software and hardware to produce electronic music is available. A bookable recording booth for vocals and a range of music software to produce, including Logic, Reason, Abelton live and the NI Komplete plugins. 

Photography  

A professional photography studio, with Nikon and Canon cameras and studio lighting and backdrops, free for members and groups. Photoshop and Light Room editing software. 

Graphic Design  

Studio12 hosts a number of industry software packages to produce designs for your media applications, including the full Adobe CC software, scanners and drawing tablets. Large format printers, laser printers and 3D printers are available to members.  

Visit  

We’re open Tuesdays – Friday 1-5pm.   

People accessing Studio12 are supported to explore non-traditional routes into the creative industry and create avenues into work. Members can develop bespoke portfolios of work in line with the latest industry developments.

What’s On 

Studio12 undertakes commissions and large-scale projects to fund their free programme of activity, providing members with opportunities to participate in live projects. The studio has a strong track record of delivering successful projects, high quality work and commissions, with work regularly showcased and highlighted at key events.
