Report on the Examination of the Remitted Parts of the Leeds Site Allocations Plan, Jan 2024

The Council submitted the Remitted part of the Leeds Site Allocations to the Secretary of State on 26 March 2021. Following an independent examination, the Council received the Inspector's Report on 2 January 2024. The report confirms that, the Remitted part of the Site Allocations Plan is legally compliant and subject to adoption of her recommended Main Modifications is sound.

The council's Executive Board will consider the Local Plan at its meeting on 15 January 2024 with a recommendation that the Plan be adopted at a meeting of council on 17 January 2024.

The council received the final report from the Planning Inspectors appointed to examine the Leeds Site Allocations Plan on 7 June 2019. The Inspectors have concluded that, subject to the main modifications set out in their report, the Plan satisfies the requirements of Section 20(5) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and meets the tests of soundness set out in the National Planning Policy Framework.

Those modifications which the Inspectors consider relate to matters of 'soundness' have been included in the Inspectors’ schedule of main modifications. All other additional modifications (including factual and typographical errors and updating for consistency), will be incorporated into the adopted version of the Local Plan.

Their report and schedule of modifications need to be read in conjunction with the Adoption Version of the Site Allocations Plan, June 2019.

The Inspectors’ Report was considered by the council’s Executive Board on 26 June 2019.
