Room 700

Leeds Central Library’s new multi-use arts space is uniquely positioned on the first floor between the Music and Performing Arts Library and the Art Library. 

Room 700 is a fantastic space to ‘think, talk, make and do’; with year round events and activities for all ages and interests inspired by the heritage, special collections and books within Leeds Central Library. Activities will also take place in our branch libraries.

Why is called Room 700? Search for a book on the arts in a library and you will find it within 700 in the Dewey Decimal classification system.

A Flock of Words – Our unique written and spoken word programme, celebrating a love of words.

Each month we’ll feature a nationally acclaimed artist, come and be inspired in a masterclass and see them perform live. A Flock of Words season tickets are available, so why not be a regular?
