Horsforth Hall Park is a large community park about six miles north-west of Leeds city centre.Address: Horsforth Hall ParkHall LaneHorsforthLeedsLS18 5JETel: 0113 2581511Facilities: The park is open to the public 365 days a year. Visitors to the park can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the park, a relaxing game of bowls, watch a cricket match or spend a Sunday afternoon enjoying one of the summer bands in the park with entertainment from some of the region’s leading brass bands (see the Parks and Countryside events page for further details). For the more active visitors there is a trim trail situated throughout the park. The newly refurbished Japanese Garden is also now open to the public and definitely worth a visit. The park has a specially designed outdoor integrated play facility allowing disabled and able bodied children under the age of eight to play together. The equipment is designed to provide various stimuli, including role play and the development of manipulative skills. This play area was the first of its kind in Leeds with HIPPO (The Horsforth Integrated Play Project) and Mencap working together with the Parks and Countryside service for the benefit of the local community. There is a playground for the older children which now includes a new climbing feature called a 'Spider’s Web'. This was purchased with the help of a contribution from 'The Friends of Hall Park' who play a valuable role in helping to improve the facilities within the park. There is also a skate park at the far end of the park which has proved to be very popular with the older children and teenagers who visit the park. Most footpaths in the park are suitable for the majority of manual and electric wheelchairs users.Useful contacts: Horsforth Hall Park – 0113 258 1511Parks and Countryside – Head Office – tel: 0113 395 7400 fax: 0113 395 7401Leeds City Council main switchboard – 0113 222 4444ParksWatch (24 hour helpline) – 0113 232 9973Dog Wardens – 0113 222 4407Parks email address - parks@leeds.gov.ukPlease note that the Parks and Countryside's Head Office main reception telephone number 0113 3957400 is staffed from 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am - 4.00pm on a Friday.
