The owner of a building or structure is responsible for its safety.

Building Control can force an owner to carry out work to remove dangerous conditions.

Report a dangerous building or structure

Please provide:

• detailed location information
• a description of the concerns
• photographs of the danger (if possible)
  

What we will do

Reports will be assessed, and if necessary a Building Control Surveyor will visit the site as soon as possible to investigate. If immediate action is needed to remove the danger, we have powers to do this.

If the structure is found to be in poor condition but not dangerous, we will contact the owner to advise them to make repairs within a reasonable time.
