The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a new levy which the Council will charge on developers or landowners when they build many types of new developments. The money raised will help to pay for some of the infrastructure needed across Leeds as a result of growth. The CIL will be charged per square metre on many new buildings, based on their use and location.
The Council appointed an independent Examiner within the Planning Inspectorate to examine the Community Infrastructure Levy Draft Charging Schedule Submission Version (Incorporating Modifications) and the associated evidence base. The documents were submitted on the 7th April 2014 with consultation also on the Modifications between 7th April and 6th May 2014. This consultation is now closed but the documents are still available to view under the ‘Documents’ tab to the left. The CIL Core Document List lists all the associated documents from previous stages.
Reference copies of the Draft Charging Schedule Submission Version and Statement of Modifications were available in all libraries and One-Stop Centres and the Development Enquiry Centre in the Leonardo Building (2 Rossington Street, Leeds, LS2 8HD).
