We are now a paperless service which means that applications can be processed more quickly from receipt to the issuing of Decision Notices and Completion Certificates reducing paper, printing, postage and storage costs as well as time.

We no longer issue any 'stamped up' paper or electronic plans so please ensure that your drawings are numbered and any revisions clearly marked as they will appear on your decision notice which will be emailed to you. Any endorsements or conditions will also appear on your decision notice.

What is building regulations approval?

Whether you are a householder or business and want to improve your property, build an extension, convert your loft or garage, fit out shops or offices, build a house or even a factory, you will need building regulation approval.

We will help you reach all minimum standards, and your application will be processed quickly and we will give you useful and practical feedback on your plans and provide regular site inspections to help with any unexpected issues that arise during building work. We provide a trusted, independent, publicly accountable, not-for-profit service that is excellent value with the highest professional integrity.

We are also responsible for administering and monitoring demolition work throughout Leeds and provide a Dangerous Structure Service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
