The hearing sessions were scheduled between Tuesday 24th - Thursday 26th January 2017. The sessions were held at the Sullivan Room, Leeds Town Hall, The Headrow, Leeds, LS1 3AD.
The Secretary of State has appointed Anne Napier BA(Hons) MRTPI MIEMA CEnv to conduct the examination into the Aire Valley Leeds Area Action Plan.
Helen Wilson is the Programme Officer for the Examination, she is an impartial officer of the Examination and works under the direction of the Inspector.

The Planning Inspectorate issued the City Council with the Aire Valley Leeds Area Action examination Inspector’s Report and Main Modifications (PDF 0.7MB) on 8 August 2017. The report concludes that subject to the modifications being made, the plan is sound. It satisfies the requirements of Section 20(5) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase 2005 Act and it provides an appropriate basis for the planning of the city. The modifications should be read along with the submitted plan (PDF 1.5MB).
Proposed Main Modifications
Leeds City Council submitted its Aire Valley Leeds AAP to the Secretary of State on 23rd September 2016.
The Aire Valley Leeds AAP is currently the subject of examination by a Planning Inspector Anne Napier BA (Hons) MRTPI MIEMA CEnv; this has included public hearings which took place in January 2017.
Following the public hearings, the Inspector identified proposed Main Modifications in order to ensure that the AVL AAP is sound and legally compliant. The Council invited representations on these Main Modifications to address matters of soundness and/or legal compliance.

This consultation was carried out from Thursday 27th April closing 5pm Thursday 8th June 2017.
Representations received on the Proposed Main Modifications have been submitted to the Planning Inspector for her consideration.
The Inspector will take these representations into account on whether the proposed Main Modifications rectify any issues of soundness and/or legal compliance.
