The nearest public transport is a bus station opposite the building, approx. 50 yards from the Centre. Level access is available across a main road with pedestrian lights.
There are 2 disabled bays to the rear of the building. The car park is level tarmac.
The entrance to the building is level and via automatic doors. The distance to the front entrance is approximately 30 yards via a tarmac pavement. There are no inaccessible parts to the public area.
The building is on one floor, so there is no lift.
The One Stop Centre area is to the rear of the library hall. Library shelves are around the hall, but placed to allow wheelchair access through to the One Stop Centre. There is also a private interview room that is fully accessible.
There is one disabled toilet that has wheelchair access, and baby changing facilities. In addition there are male and female toilets available.
The One Stop Centre has a portable hearing loop system that can be used in other parts of the buildings on request. All One Stop Centre information is available in Braille, large print or other languages by request. Language interpreters via the telephone are available by request. BSL (British Sign Language) interpreters are available by request, and need to be booked by appointment. Customer Services staff have not had Deaf Awareness training.
