Purpose of the Killingbeck and Seacroft Neighbourhood Framework
The Killingbeck and Seacroft Neighbourhood Framework will help to guide the regeneration of the area. It identifies the location for new housing alongside other improvements required to make the area an even better place to live. These include improvements to open space, pedestrian and cycle opportunities and improving connectivity more general across the area.
Public consultation on the Killingbeck and Seacroft Neighbourhood Framework took place in January 2015 and more recently in September 2015. Respondents were generally positive about the ideas set out and the responses received have helped to shape and inform the preparation of the document.
Executive Board considered the Killingbeck and Seacroft Neighbourhood Framework in November 2015 and agreed the development principles and approach included within the document and that these should be applied in the consideration of development sites coming forward.
It is intended that the framework will be reviewed in due course to ensure that it is consistent with the Local Development Framework Site Allocations Plan once this has been adopted. As part of a framework review two sites previously proposed for housing have been removed and included as greenspace (Site 2 Ramshead Drive and Site 17 Brooklands Avenue/Lambrigg Crescent). These changes accord with the Council’s Draft Publication Site Allocations Plan which seeks to protect the sites as greenspace.
