Got a cough? Get a check

Aged over 50? If you’ve had a cough for over three weeks, access a FREE chest x-ray today without requiring a GP appointment.

Have you had a cough for over 3 weeks? Persistent coughs may be a sign of something more serious. A chest x-ray can detect any illnesses that need treatment.

Getting your cough checked is easy and does not require an appointment from your GP. You can self-refer yourself to one of our walk-in services to get a free check by following these steps:

  • Locate your nearest walk-in service (see the Check up information flyer (PDF) or the Where can I get a free check? section).

  • Check their opening times and visit the walk-in service at a time best for you (no appointment required).

  • The reception staff will book you an appointment. Within a short wait you will be directed to the x-ray room to have an x-ray taken.

  • That's it! Results are then sent directly to your GP, who will contact you to discuss your results.
