The Voice, Influence and Change Team are based within the Children and Families directorate. We support the vision for a more
child friendly Leeds by working to ensure that all children, young people, parents and carers have their voices heard and can influence decisions and services that affect their lives.
This is one of the key outcomes in the
Children and Young Peoples Plan (PDF 1.2MB). The team provide advice, guidance and training to decision makers and professionals working with children, young people and families. The team run a variety of citywide youth voice programme and enable young people to have a say in who is appointed into senior posts (recruitment panels) and contribute to deciding which organisations are awarded contracts (commissioning panels).
We promote opportunities for children and young people to have a voice and influence locally, regionally and nationally. We actively encourage children and young people to be democratically engaged and become
active citizens and know how to have the views heard.
