Learning, training and employment

Children's Services work to enable all young people in Leeds to take part and progress in learning up to the age of 18 and make a successful transition to employment or further learning.  The two main areas of activity are:

Participation, progression and provision planning – We lead on strategies and projects to increase participation in learning, help schools with careers advice and guidance, and reduce the number of young people who are not engaged in education, employment or training.  We also work with schools, further education colleges, and other partners to make sure there is a full range of learning and employment opportunities for the post-14 age group.

Quality Assurance of Offsite Provision – We monitor and assure the quality of all off site learning accessed by 11-19 year olds outside of the school environment. Our aim is to ensure that young people are safe in these environments and achieve the best possible learning outcomes.

We provide the Leeds Pathways online service around learning, training and employment for young people in Leeds.  The site also includes resources for parents, carers, teachers and other professionals.
