European Passport Return Service

The European passport return service (EPRS) is provided for EEA (European Economic Area) and Swiss nationals applying online using the EEA(QP) or EEA(PR) application forms as part of the process of applying for permanent residence with the benefit of not having to surrender your passport.

To use this service you must:

  • hold a current EEA/Swiss passport
  • have completed an online application to the Home Office for a Permanent Residence Card or Registration Card
  • be applying as an individual not a family or couple
  • be able to attend at the Register Office within five working days of making your online application

Who must attend the appointment? Who must attend the appointment? <div class="ExternalClass38C95EF2E6E74F88A84DB6C157C8EF13"><p>You and any family members you have included in your online application who are over the age of 15 years and 6 months should attend an appointment in person within the Home Office required time scale of submitting your application form online. We aim to provide appointments as quickly as possible but due to the current popularity of the service we cannot guarantee that we can always provide an appointment within 5 days. Therefore <strong>please book an appointment with us before completing your online application</strong> with the Home Office.​</p><br></div>
How much does it cost for an appointment? How much does it cost for an appointment? <div class="ExternalClass12C103E56EDD496DBCCD8866014A5262"><p>£45 for the 1st adult application.</p><p>£40 for each additional adult applying at the same time.</p><p>£25 for each child application. </p><p>The fee includes guaranteed delivery of your documents withint two working days. ​</p><br></div>
What we doWhat we do<div class="ExternalClassAC105840ED5047F38983C29A3A2F9FEA"><p>Leeds Register Office can photocopy your EEA or Swiss passport and forward a copy, along with your checklist and application, to the Home Office on your behalf. Your passport will then be available for you to use while your application is being processed.</p><p>The Home Office may contact you for further information after your application has been submitted.</p><p>Using the European passport return service does not guarantee the success of the application and we cannot offer any advice. Please also note that this service will not ensure that your form has been correctly completed nor that the correct supporting documents have been submitted.</p> ​<br></div>
