Here are the answers to some questions we are often asked. If the answer to your question isn't here please contact us.
Do I need an appointment to come to the PHRC?
No, appointments are not necessary if you are wanting to visit the library.
How long can I borrow resources for?
This varies on the type of resource:
  • Books, DVDs, videos, games and teaching packs from the shelves - up to 4 weeks and two renewals of a further 4 weeks.
  • Models and equipment - up to 2 weeks depending on availability.
How many items can I borrow at once?
You can take up to 5 models, 5 DVDs and 10 items from the shelves.
Will I be charged if my resources are overdue?
Yes, there is a charge of 10p per resource per day. However, this doesn't accumulate over bank holidays or weekends.
Is there anyone available to visit and speak to schools/groups about health promotion issues?
No, but if you speak to a member of staff they may be able to recommend someone who can.
Is there a charge for ordering leaflets?
No, we do not charge for leaflets and posters.
How many leaflets and posters can I order?
You may order as may leaflets and posters as required.  Although there is no limit to your order size, we may not be able to fulfil sizeable orders if low on stock.  Please feel free to discuss your needs with a member of staff.
I regularly use a particular resource and would like to purchase one for my service.  Where can I buy it from?
Please speak to a member of staff who can advise on the supplier of the resource and provide their contact details.
