Project Placements

A successful internship scheme within Leeds Museums and Galleries has been running since 2009, and we have hosted more than 60 placements. In 2015 we reviewed the scheme and changed the name to Project Placements, which we feel better reflects the positions on offer. Each placement is a paid opportunity funded through our Arts Council England Major Partner Museum grant.

We are keen to develop and maintain collections research and interpretation across all our collection areas and departments to make them accessible to as wide a range of people as possible.

Research and learning projects have enabled us to create new displays, resources and programmes, revealing some of the fascinating stories about our wide variety of collections. These project placements often unlock opportunities for further placements, including assisting with exhibitions, online projects and learning and outreach programmes.
