Planning a visit

Do you lead a community, youth, children’s or adult learning group? Want a fun day out with a purpose?

We can tailor visits to you and your group. Got a fascination with wallpaper? We can help!
Want to know more about bones? We do!

We want to deliver the best service we can to you, so it helps us if we know when groups are going to visit one of our sites. We can then put any measures in place to help you and your group make the most out of your visit.  We suggest you contact us at least two weeks in advance of when you plan to visit.

To book, ring the site you are interested in visiting, or drop them an email. Before you phone it’s often useful to have to hand the address and postcode of the group you are booking (school, youth club etc) and telephone number, your preferred dates, any workshop information you are interested in and any additional needs.

We offer all group leaders a free pre-visit before any booking so you can complete your risk assessments and have a face-to-face chat with us about any issues. We know you are busy, but if at all possible, please come and see us before the visit. This is really useful for us to get a sense of any additional needs your group may have, and for you so you know where the toilets are, what to do in the event of an emergency, or simply about the timings for the day.

To make a visit as easy as possible, we have downloadable Health and Safety guidance to help with risk assessments available from the documents link above.
