Young People - Books and Reading

We have a wide range of books and reading materials for all young people:

  • All the latest bestselling novels and series
  • Graphic novels and Manga
  • GCSE guides and the latest information books
  • eBooks, audio and magazines to download onto tablets and smartphones

Ask your library to help you find anything you need to know. We can show you online resources to help with homework or just help to find you a good book to read.

Libraries offer lots of opportunities for young people to socialise and make new friends. Whether you are interested in arts and crafts, Minecraft, coding, gaming or comics there is always something happening in one of our libraries.

Leeds Book Awards

You can help us decide who the winners of the Leeds Book Awards will be. Borrow the books from your local library and vote for your favourite. Information on how to take part is on the Leeds Book Awards website or look out for the special posters at your library.

Volunteering Opportunities For Young People - Reading Hack

We are looking for young volunteers aged 13 - 25 to help plan, promote and carry out library events and activities across Leeds - for the annual Summer Reading Challenge and throughout the year. Visit our Volunteering in libraries page for more information.
