Talking books

​Do you like listening to a great story being read by your favourite actor or a wonderful narrator? 

Whether you want to listen while you’re driving, ironing or sitting comfortably or you have some difficulty holding a book or seeing print, Talking Books are a great way to keep reading.

The selection on offer ranges across the genres - popular fiction, romance, crime and mysteries, classics, biographies, humour, drama, travel, war and adventure. The stories are mainly unabridged and all are free to borrow. 

Formats includes CD, cassettes and eAudio books, which can be downloaded from our Digital Bookshelf external link ​using your library card. Reservations for talking books in CD and cassette format are free if you have a visual impairment or other difficulty with the printed word, otherwise there is a small reservation charge. 

For eAudio, you can join the waiting list free of charge and you will be notified when the item is available to download. using your library card. If the eAudiobook that you want to read is on loan, you can join the waiting list free of charge and you will be notified when it is available to download.
