Marriage approved premises registration

If you would like to use your business to hold civil partnership ceremonies or wedding ceremonies, you will need to be approved by us.

You must be the owner or a trustee of the property to apply for permission. The application must include a plan of the venue which clearly shows the room or rooms where the ceremonies will be held. A fee may be payable.

You can apply for permission to hold wedding ceremonies in religious premises or to hold civil partnership and wedding ceremonies in non-religious premises online.

A variation, such as an additional room, is the same fee as a new application.

If there are no challenges while we consult upon your application, it will be granted in 21 days. If you have not heard from us by that point, please call us and we can tell you what is happening with your application.

Any person may give notice in writing of an objection to the grant of approval of such application, with reasons for the objection within 21 days from the date of publication, shown above. Such notice of objection should be sent to entertainment.licensing@leeds.gov.uk.
