Area Panels

Single Image Display

There are four Area Panels in the West North West area.  These are based on Leeds City Council’s Area Committee structure. They cover the following areas:

  • Outer West: Calverley and Farsley, Farnley and Wortley, Pudsey
  • Inner West: Armley and Bramley,  Stanningley
  • Outer North West: Adel and Wharfedale, Guiseley and Rawdon, Horsforth and Otley, Yeadon
  • Inner North West: Headingley, Hyde Park and Woodhouse, Kirkstall and Weetwood

Each Area Panel works to a Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct. These are available to download.

Each Area Panel consists of:

  • One Board Director
  • Two local ward members
  • Six tenants or leaseholders

Area Panel meetings are open to the public and are held on a bi-monthly basis on the same cycle as Board meetings. Brief summaries of the meeting outcomes are available to download.

The role of the Area Panels is wide and covers several service areas. Their role and responsibilities are listed in Appendix One of the terms of reference.

Each Area Panel is responsible for a budget relating to:

  • Priorities identified through the Neighbourhood Action Plans
  • Requests for projects arising from Tenant Inspection and Estate Walkabouts

Your Area Panel has a pot of money for community safety projects, environmental works, estate improvements, enhancing communal areas or supporting tenants' group work.

You can make a bid if you are:

  • An individual tenant or leaseholder
  • A resident or community groups
  • WNWhL staff

Bids can be submitted at any time and the relevant Area Panel will then consider them at the first appropriate meeting.

When you have identified a potential scheme within your area, you should complete an ‘Area Panel Bidding Form’. You can get forms from your neighbourhood housing office, or by contacting Customer Services on 0113 395 0141 or by emailing wnwhl.customerservicessupportteam@wnwhl.org.uk

Although you can complete and submit the bidding form yourself, we would recommend that you first get a ‘bid sponsor’ (normally your neighbourhood management officer) to help you through the process.

For further details and to see some of the fantastic projects our tenants have already achieved please use the downloads tab at the bottom of this page.  Projects are ranked 'easy' 'medium' and 'hard' depending on the time and resources needed to complete each project.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch we need your suggestions to make these changes!
