Anti Social Behaviour

Single Image Display

We believe that everybody should live in a safe and secure neighbourhood, free from anti-social behaviour and harassment. The majority of people act responsibly, take pride in their homes and communities and respect their neighbours. Unfortunately, some cause misery, fear and distress with anti-social behaviour or harassment.  We do not tolerate such behaviour and will take swift and effective action to deal with it.

  • If you rent your home from a housing association, private landlord or agency, please report the problem to them first.

What will you do when I report ASB?

Our staff will ask you questions to gather information so that we are able to assess and respond quickly.  There are five basic details that we need to know:

1. Where is the ASB occurring?
2. When does it occur?
3. Who is involved?
4. Why is it occurring?
5. What type of ASB is it?

The nature, frequency and severity of all reported incidents will be considered when deciding on the most appropriate course of action.

On receiving your complaint we will arrange to visit you at the earliest opportunity to take further details.  We will speak to any other witnesses for example, neighbours.  We will also visit the alleged perpetrator.  it may only take a quiet word for the problems to stop, or further action may need to be taken.  We will always try and stop the ASB through intervention and support work before taking any legal action.
