The Temple Newsam gift shop in the Stable courtyard has been having a facelift and re-opened to the public in December 2010. The shop is still the destination for admission tickets and to pick up leaflets and information about what is going on in the House and Estate but has also become the destination for fabulous Temple Newsam inspired gifts for all ages.
The shop is divided into two distinct areas; one for our younger visitors to enjoy dominated by a huge tree with leaves featuring fun facts about the House, farm, wildlife and surrounding landscape. The second section designed and decorated to reflect the Tudor Mansion includes ranges of homeware, kitchen, garden, books and food.
The contemporary kitchen range called 'Health and Plenty' is inspired by the distinctive inscription on the parapet of the House. The sumptuous Temple Newsam food range includes; jams, chutneys, biscuits, fudges and teas all with beautifully designed labels and gift cards inspired by the stunning Temple Newsam wallpaper collection. These are just two of the new ranges that offer something unique to our visitors.
For children we have included great outdoor games for the family, heritage toys, a farm inspired collection and a funky garden range designed to inspire and encourage children to enjoy the outdoors, learn and have fun.
The gift collections feature a luxurious home fragrance and home accessory range; including sensational Temple Newsam scented candles, stunning trinket trays, stylish photo frames. The Temple Newsam stationery has been inspired by the James Audubon birds pasted to the hand painted wallpaper in the Chinese Room of the House.
