Tudor Volunteers

This group is involved in our "Working Lives - The Tudors" historical re-enactment Programme for Schools, based in the Home Farm.

This programme involves the demonstration of typical jobs done by Farm-hands and Estate servants during Tudor times. Threshing, winnowing, gleaning and grinding Corn, Baking Bread, Buttermaking and Herb-Lore are just some of the activities children learn how to do with help from our volunteers.

"Working Lives - The Tudors" runs for several days each month from February to June and in October and November. We can supply a historical costume and all your training. If you have a passion for history and you enjoy enthusing children about our past, this group is for you. You can also get involved in a lively event programme throughout the year. Please note that as with all work with children, you will have to fill in an application form, have an informal interview, provide referees and undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check for this post.
