Education Volunteers

This Group works at Temple Newsam and Lotherton Hall helping to deliver Educational programmes to local schools and groups.

You can get involved with Key Stage Packages like "Working Lives - The Tudors", "Animal Designs" "Hejvig the Hedge Witch"or "Bird Brains", Farm Guided Tours, Study Support Centre programmes like "Farm Food - Healthy Eating" and "The Ghosts of Temple Newsam", plus many more! You could also work behind the scenes, helping us to contact schools and other volunteers with regular updates on what we are doing and also work with the Education Officer researching, designing and writing new educational packages.

There is a lot of flexibility for working as an Educational Volunteer, as schools make visits throughout the year during the week. We also provide holiday playschemes at Easter, Summer and Autumn half-term, which have an educational element. You don't have to work all day - a morning or afternoon here and there really helps. If you want to gain experience teaching young people, outside the classroom environment, or you have experience and knowledge and enjoy passing this on to and inspiring the next generation, this volunteering opportunity is for you. Please note that an informal interview, references and a Criminal Records Bureau check are undertaken for this position.
