Full colour guide to fifty of the finest paintings from the Leeds Museums and Galleries collections housed at
Temple Newsam. Today there are approximately 400 paintings on display at the house, about half of which are
indigenous, having been assembled over 300 years by the Ingram family and their successors. Highlights include
The Temptation of St Jerome by Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574), Portrait of a Child with a Rattle attributed to
Paul van Somer dated 1611, The Adoration of the Shepherds by Matthias Stom (c1600-1656) and 'The Fair Nun
unmasked' by Henry Morland (c1730-1797). The collection also contains a group of works by Antonio Marini
(1668-1725) commissioned for Temple Newsam by Edward fourth Viscount during his Grand Tour of Europe 1704-7.
