Hugo Francis Meynell Ingram (1822-1871) by Sir Francis Grant (1803-1878), 55 X 43 (139.5 X 109)

Hugo Francis inherited Temple Newsam and Hoar Cross from his father in 1869 but lived to enjoy these properties for only two years. His widow Emily Charlotte built the church of the Holy Angels at Hoar Cross, described as one of the most moving of all Victorian churches, as a memorial to him.
