Mrs Aston's Room
In the 18th century this room was another dressing room but by 1808 it had became known as Mrs Aston's Room
after the youngest daughter of the last Lord Irwin. Remnants of a striking early 18th century wallpaper,
(showing a fox chasing a dog, perhaps after Aesop's Fables), can be seen beside the nearest door, as well
as a handsome Chinese-style wallpaper probably supplied in 1766. A servant's dark room, now known as the
Textile Room, accompanied it.
