Sir John Ramsden's Dressing Room
The room beyond the small steps was known as Sir John Ramsden's Dressing Room in the 1808 inventory (he was a
son-in-law of the last Lady Irwin) but by the end of the century it acted as a School room. Like all the rooms
on this floor it has undergone major changes: it once had a most unusual red flock wallpaper, probably supplied
in 1767, and like the rooms below it would have served as part of the family's private accommodation.
