The Temple Newsam collection of textiles consists of both furnishing fabrics and upholstered furniture, some of which is indigenous to the house. Highlights include a magnificent suite of furniture commissioned in 1745 for the Picture Gallery and upholstered in original wool needlework and a pair of Brussels Tapestries depicting scenes from the life of Moses given to Lady Hertford of Temple Newsam by the Prince of Wales in 1806. The museum also houses The Roger Warner Collection of historic textiles, a fascinating selection of which is on view in the Textile Room.

A fully illustrated colour catalogue of The Roger Warner Collection is available.
