Transylvanian Naked Neck

The Naked Neck or 'Churkey' originates from Malta. It is able to live and lay well on a meagre diet - it has the interesting trait of digging deep into rubbish piles, muck heaps, etc. looking for food.

A bold upright bird with a deep compact body and plenty of long hackle feathers on the saddle. It has a short beak, large prominent eyes and a straight, erect single comb.

Available: large fowl or miniature.
Weight: Large Hen 6-8lb, 2.7-3.6kg minimum.
Cockerel 8-10lb, 3.6-4.5kg minimum.

Bantam Hen 1.5lb, 0.68kg maximum.
Bantam Cockerel 2lb, 0.91kg maximum.

Colours: black; white; cuckoo; buff; red; blue.

Eggs: tinted.
