A very old Polish breed whose ancestry is not clear. It was first shown in London in 1845 and was standardised
in 1865. The crest or 'top knot' has become large through selective breeding.
A light breed, sprightly and erect with a long back and a large head with a full crest or tuft of feathers on top.
Available: large fowl or miniature.
Weight: Large Hen 5lb, 2.25kg.
Cockerel 6.5lb, 2.95kg.
Bantam Hen 1.1-1.5lb, 0.51-0.68kg
Bantam Cockerel 1.5-1.75lb, 0.68-0.79kg.
Colours: white; silver; chamois - white laced buff; gold; white-crested black; white-crested blue;
white-crested; cuckoo - barred.
Eggs: white.
