Old English Pheasant Fowl
An alert, active breed that originated in Northern Britain. Once called the Yorkshire Pheasant, Golden Pheasant
or Old-fashioned Pheasant, it was given its present name in 1914, although the breed is much older.
Active and alert, it is a light bird with a meaty breast. It has a neat rose comb with a smooth
face and wattles, and also crescent spangling - a quarter moon shaped spot of colour at the end
of each feather.
Available: large fowl only.
Weight: Hen 4.5-6lb, 2-2.7kg.
Cockerel 5.5-7lb, 2.5-3.2kg.
Colours: gold - a bright rich bay colour with dark markings; silver - white with beetle green-black markings.
Eggs: white.
