Yorkshire Wagons
Wagons were designed to meet the differing local needs across the country, and are roughly classified by the
county name. Yorkshire, being such a large and varied county, has three main sizes and styles, although more
variation occurred between the different makers. The larger wagon, once owned by a farmer in the Vale of Pickering,
is designed to take either shafts or a pole, while the smaller one is equipped for shafts only.
