Lister diesel 5-1 engine

In the 1900s many farms had what was known as 'barn machinery', these included items such as chaff cutters, root cutters and cattle cake crushers. Many of these machines were driven, via a set of belts and shafting, by a stationary engine such as this Lister 5-1 engine. It is a 6HP single cylinder diesel engine and is just one of several stationary engines to be found at Home Farm.
