Temple Newsam has something to offer all types of adult learners from the specialist researching an interest area to the individual who would just like to know a little more. Throughout the House there is written information about rooms, objects and stories. Our well informed Visitor Assistants are on hand to offer information and answer queries.
Free adult audio tours are available as part of the admission price. House tours with a specialist guide (£1 per head) for groups can be arranged by calling 0113 264 7321. Book on to a Weekly ‘Hidden Temple Newsam tours’ every Tuesday 11am and 2pm and every Saturday at 11am and go behind the scenes to explore the cellars, underground passages and servant quarters. A regular programme of themed weekly tours are available too.

In the past supervision and instruction of students wanting to enter the profession, involving practical skill development has been given.
We have a regular programme of talks and demonstrations from the our curatorial team ranging from general interest lectures based on Temple Newsam’s decorative arts and textile collections to study days for university students or special interest groups.
Temple Newsam has established links with education groups and worked on projects which have involved drama, music and art.
