We have a successful diving programme and a large number of our athletes reach major national and international competitions. We provide structured training for all abilities from the beginner to an international level competitor.
Learn to dive lessons
We provide structured diving lessons for children and adults at the aquatics centre, John Charles centre for sport and children’s lessons at Aireborough leisure centre (you can download 'flip-n-fun' details below).
Children work towards the NPTS Flip and Fun diving awards scheme of badges. When they have all the badges they can join the diving training scheme.

Aireborough leisure centre also offers diving lessons and these are held every Monday between 5.05 – 6.05 and run for an eight week period. These are suitable for children aged 6 years upwards who want to experience diving and learn new skills in a fun and safe environment. Children must be able to swim 50m. Bookable through the centre. Adult diving lessons are available at the aquatics centre at John Charles centre for sport. They are a casual drop in class open to anyone over the age of 16 years who wants to have a go at diving. Under expert tuition have a go on the 1m and 3m springboards and the 3m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m diving platforms.
Lessons are on a Tuesday 8.00pm -9.00pm, Wednesday 12.00pm – 1.00pm and Thursday 8.00pm – 9.00pm.
Diving training scheme
Our diving training scheme is one of the largest and most successful in the UK and our divers have represented us at the Olympics.
Entry to the scheme is by invitation, either through the learn to dive programme or through assessment / talent identification from one of the diving coaches. All diving scheme sessions are held at the John Charles centre for sport.
Throughout the scheme, divers can progress from county to regional and national standard, at the top level of the scheme, divers are of international standard.
All coaches are Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) qualified and hold enhanced safeguarding certificates.
