Being physically active is a great way to have fun and spend time with friends and family as well as meet new people. It can improve your mood and self confidence as well as making you feel more energetic and help you sleep better. It can also reduce the risk of you getting a major chronic disease such as coronary heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure and help you maintain a healthy weight.
Our aim is to encourage the people of Leeds to become more active by providing you with the information you need to get started and carry on.
Having an Active Lifestyle isn’t just for the sporty types, but can include anything that gets you moving. We want to help you find activities that you will enjoy and would consider trying either on your own, or better still with friends.
You can be physically active anywhere and at any time that suits your lifestyle. It could be in your home, your garden, in the local park, at a local community centre or leisure centre.
