walkit Route A67

Welcome to Walkit Leeds. This is sign A67

Walk it Leeds is a project aimed at making it easy for you to make your way around Leeds City Centre on foot.

This sign gives you clear, easy-to-read mapping of the local area. It shows you the main shopping areas in yellow, places to eat and drink in orange, and other places of interest in purple.

The map is known as ‘heads up’, which means the map is orientated to the direction you are looking at it, rather than having north at the top.

The sign is also solar powered, so the map should be backlit if it’s before 9pm and if it’s dark.

This sign was installed in December 2011 and the map was last updated in November 2011. If you spot any mistakes or damage, we’d be pleased to hear from you. Please email walkitleeds@leeds.gov.uk or call 0113 2474685.

You are at sign A67 at the junction of Bond Street and Albion Street. The Victorian stone building opposite, occupied by Starbucks, was built in 1852 and was one of the first purpose built offices in Leeds. It was the head office of the Leeds and Yorkshire Fire and Life Assurance Company. This junction is now the busiest part of Leeds city centre in terms of pedestrian footfall.
